This is why Joss Whedon is a genius:
See this demon. He was in a recent Angel episode I watched and he was only in the episode for about 30 seconds before being brutally murdered. This less than 30-second scene caused me more heartbreak than I think I’ve ever experienced in my life. He was an innocent, harmless demon and was killed for being different from humans. The sound of worry in his voice, how he was wearing tennis shoes and sipping a Slurpee, just made him such a heartbreaking character because you know he couldn’t do anything to defend himself. And, he doesn’t even have a name. But, let me tell you, he has become one of my favorite Joss Whedon characters.
Oh, Joss Whedon, you rip my heart out constantly. But, I think that’s why I love you so much. You make me feel things, even if they aren’t always “happily ever after.”
